I have always been a huge fan of a delicious sammy. I heart pork products!!! Salami, bacon, pork loin, prosciutto, pancetta....if it comes from a pig I love it with one exception --- HAM. I dislike ham, a lot. I have tried it many times recently and have still decided that I don't like it. But anything else that comes from that little oinker I am a big fan of! I was introduced to one particular sammy by my sister's and her mother in law. I have to say that my sister's mother in law, Sue, makes a mean prosciutto sammy. But then again, doesn't food taste better when anyone else makes it instead of you? :) I love a good grilled cheese sandwich. The gooey cheese is so satisfying and yummy. I am also in love with my grill pan. I will stick anything in it and can make a mean panini by using a heavy pan on top to squish it down. Below is a picture of the prosciutto and mozzarella sammy I made this weekend.
This sammy was made with the following:
- 2 slices of rosemary french bread
- 2 slices of shaved prosciutto
- 1 teaspoon pesto
- 2 slices of fresh mozzarella
- couple slices of tomato
Layers the above ingredients and grill in a little butter or evoo. Like I said above I use my grill pan and place a heavy pan with a can on top to press down. Its ready when the cheese is all gooey and melty all over. Bon Appetite!
That looks delish. Is that a plum on the side? That looks good too...Hmm. I must be hungry!
ReplyDeleteThat sure is a plum. It was yummy too! I don't think they are technically in season right now, but it was still sweet and juicy :)
ReplyDeleteYes, this sammy is delish, and it does taste better when Sue makes it. I think most people, even non-cooks like me, can handle it, though. :) I feel so lucky to have been mentioned in your post!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I dunno why it comes up as RB Photography. I made a blog but have nothing on it (yet!) A website is in the works, too. FYI... :) Love you!
